What really happened in Merlin S1E03.
"But not all Magic is bad." said Merlin
"It's neither good nor bad, it's how you use it." Gaius replied, tired of the argument.
Suddenly the door flew open, and Prince Arthur and his men had suddenly filled the room.
"Over there." Arthur pointed. "Sorry Gaius, we're searching every room in town."
"What for?" Gaius was a little annoyed.
"The sorcerer." Arthur replied.
"Why would he be here?"
"I'm just doing my job."
"Well we've got nothing to hide, go on then, search." Gaius gave Merlin a worried look.
The knights picked up books and papers and opened draws.
"All these books and papers?" asked Arthur.
"My life's work, dedicated to the understanding of science. You are quite welcome to read through them if you wish."
Arthur turned his face. No thank you. "What's this room up here?" he asked.
"Ehh...it's mine." said Merlin.
"And what do you expect to find in there?" asked Gaius.
"I'm looking for material or evidence suggesting the use of enchantments." said Arthur, and hopped up the stairs.
Gaius leaned close to Merlin, so the guards wouldn't overhear. "What have you done with the magic book I gave you?"
Arthur opened the door and stepped inside. Filthy. Doesn't he ever clean up? Oh look at this, he's left a book on the floor. Funny, I didn't think him the type for reading. He's a servant after all. Arthur approached and looked over the book. I know, it's probably full of dirty jokes or something. Honestly Merlin. Or maybe it's your journal. Got any nasty things to say about me? Arthur picked up the book and began flicking through the pages. Wh...what? This is a magic book! What the-- Merlin are you bloody crazy! Why is this even in here!? Oh hell no, I don't want to know. No way. Arthur put the book back and went to the door. wait, no...need to hide it....
"Merlin come here!" Arthur called. "Look what I've found."
Merlin rushed up stairs with a worried look.
"I've found a place you can put things. It's called a cupboard." That was a hint you little-- you had better hide that thing.
Then Arthur turned to 'examine' the other side of the room, deliberately turning his back on Merlin.
Merlin saw this opportunity and his eyes flashed golden. A shirt slithered off the bed and over the book on the floor.
Arthur turned back. Then got down under the bed to see if he could still see the book. No. But it was still there, he could see that Merlin had covered it. Idiot. Just put it somewhere safer when I leave.
And on that note, he descended the stairs back into the main room.
"How do you think it may be before you find a cure?"Arthur asked.
"Depends on how many interruptions I get." Gaius said coldly.
"Of course, I'm sorry." Arthur turned to his guards. "We're finished here."
